Fring is a famous VoIP app which is available for iPhone too. It not only lets you to make free calls to other Fring users but also to Skype and IM contacts. Calling to local and international landline and cellular networks is very much affordable.

3) Skype

Skype lets you make free calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world. It works over your existing GPRS, 3G or wi-fi network.

The subscription is totally free. You can also make free calls to other Truphone, Skype and gtalk users. After, you cross the limit of 30, you can call and text at affordable rates.  Vopium is a free app available at the iTunes store.

    skype is free if the otherperson has skype as well you can only talk throught skype

    This list isn’t the best, but it’s not bad. I’m surprised that Whistle isn’t on this though. You get a phone number, doesn’t make you go through an annoying setup process that doesn’t work (iCall did), and it’s completely free.
