In our last post about unlocking iPhone OS 3.0, we had warned that you may not try it with iPhone 3GS because it may cause problem while unlocking your new iPhone 3GS with the ultrasnow! You obviously had been waiting for the unlock update and so was I. I’m glad that iPhone Dev Team has now released the latest version of ultrasn0w, so you can now easily unlock your iPhone 3GS. The method is the same as it was for unlocking iPhone 3G. However I’m putting it here again:

1. Ensure you have upgraded to
iPhone
OS 3.0 (Detailed Guide here)
2. Jailbreak your
iPhone 3GS using redsn0w or PwnageTool. This will also install Cydia/Icy.(Detailed Guide here)
3. Run Cydia or Icy
4. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6. Reboot your
iPhone 3GS
7. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8. Enjoy
