Finland based European mobile phone giant Nokia has launched its long waited online app store today. There are model specific as well as all-rounder apps available. Most of the apps are not the new ones and are already available over the web. There are also some apps which cost far more at the Ovi store than their official websites, an example of which is Shuzo which is available for free from its official website but costs €5 at the Ovi.
Nokia phones are the most popular ones all over the world, that’s why, Ovi got overloaded and there had been a performance problem right after the launch. Now few hours past, Ovi store seems to perform pretty well. TechCrunch sues ovi store for bad performance but they might not have been expecting huge spikes just at the launch time.
After Apple’s inituitive of iTunes app store, Microsft, Blackberry and now Nokia have come up with the similar stores. But, Apple being the pioneer still leads the way!
