Europe’s well know mobile innovations company SPRXmobile has come up with something really innovative. They have developed “Layar“, an Android app that combines the wonders of the digital world with the real world! All you have to do is to view the real world through the camera of your Android phone and it will display all the information about the things being viewed.

The World’s First Augmented Reality Browser “Layar” is a free application on your mobile phone which shows what is around you by displaying real time digital information on top of reality through the camera of your mobile phone. Not getting it yet? Look Wikipedia for “Augmented Reality

Now its really cool to have such a great gadget that can tell you all the information about the real world. For now, Layar works in Netherlands only, but I hope it will soon be available for other parts of the world too!

Layar is available for the T-Mobile G1, HTC Magic and other Android phones in Android Market. Planned roll-out dates for other countries  are not known yet.
