Netbooks are meant to be cheap and ultra portable computers so they are coming with Atom processors these days and many people are not happy with their performance. Though they are supposed to provide the web browsing basically but for a user like me who keeps 200 tabs open in his firefox most of the times, an Atom processor and a maximum of 1GB seems to prove itself a fail.
I guess Acer, understands my problem, so he is going to launch an enhanced featured netbook (probably for me). First and most important of all is that it has a ULV processor instead of an Atom! ULVs are fairly faster than Atom. Its not that all, it supports 4 GB of RAM too. And even that’s not all! This lovely gizmo comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium. Yay! I know geeks are cheering with joy because its a hint that they’ll be able to install Windows 7 too!
The upcoming “Acer Timeline” netbook has 1.4 GHz Intel ULV SU 3500 processor, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card, HDMI, built-in bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi b/g/n. It has got an optional 3G too. Battery life is what I love! Yes, it is supposed to be 8 hours! Screen is a little bigger than my liking i.e it has 11.6 inch, a little more than 10 inch. Screen resolution is 1366×768.
However, lets wait for this cool gadget to come to the market, then we’ll decide if its a winner or not!
