XDA folks have been bringing some great news for us. This time they have something unexpected. Windows 95 port for Android!

Windows 95 on Android HTC Desire
An Android hacker and XDA user called ‘mamaich‘ has been working on the project of porting Windows 95 to Android and has succeeded. He has tested it by running Windows 95 on his HTC Desire and says that it would run just fine on other Android phones too. But the phone needs to have a good amount of RAM (I assume 1GB) and at least a VGA screen. Nexus One? Droid? Bring On guys!
But, one thing for some details savvy readers. It is not a real port. Windows 95 does not run on the bare machine. It runs in an emulator – either QEMU or BOCHS emulator for Android. Both have pros and cons. BOCHS is not that fast, in fact not fast at all. But it is stable. On the other hand QEMU emulator runs windows 95 a lot faster but it has bugs. Like you can’t play MIDI music. (Do you really need to?) Also the Keyboard and mouse on QEMU are not working too good.
If you want to revive your old Windows 95 childhood memories, just head to XDA thread for instructions.
By the way Android guys seem to chase Apple to the hell. Just a day ago we saw Windows 95 ported to iPhone and now we have Windows 95 for Android. Amazing!
