Here you go guys! Stop thinking of a customized Froyo ROM for your Droid X. Stop thinking of AOSP Froyo. Stop thinking of Sense or default Android UI. You have to use your Droid X on ‘as is’ basis. No hack, mod or tweak possible at all!
Motorola has done something that no one expected. They crossed even Apple by adding eFuse to Droid X. Any modification to Droid X’ default software would brick the phone. Literally, it would self destruct itself. Just like the leaked iPhone 4 prototype got bricked.
I have been hating Apple for the restrictions they impose and ‘used to’ love Android for its openness and endless possibilities. Like I can has a Froyo on HTC EVO, even on HTC Tattoo! But Motorola’s latest eFuse move has just hurt my feelings. I was feeling myself as a soon-to-be Android fanboy but that’s not going to be the case anymore.
And yes, provided the horrible Motoblur UI Droid X has got, the outdated Android 2.1 it runs on, the awesome not-available-on-Android-Market apps it can’t support, and no tweaking possibility, we hate the phone. You know what does that mean? Yes, thegadgets.net officially awards Motorola Droid X a CrapGadget label! Not recommended to buy at all!
