Some Droid X units were shipped earlier than the official release date. If you have one, you can activate it right now. Here’s how you’d do that.
A total of 170 Droid X units were shipped a lot earlier than the July 15 release date but they were just pieces of bricks. None of them allowed any network activity because Verizon was not willing to activate them before the official release date. Just imagine that you buy a new phone that doesn’t work at all. It seems that Verizon realized that how annoying this could be. So the customer having a Droid X in their hands can now activate it.
How to activate?
To activate your Droid X, go to MyVerizon or dial *228 from your Droid X for the OTA update. Simple!
