Jailbreak for iOS 4 for all iPhones, including the iPhone 4 has been out already in the market for a long time now, but unlock for iPhone 4 has yet still to be released. The two most active members of iPhone Dev Team (or atleast active on social networks), MuscleNerd and PlanetBeing are currently working on the Unlock and we are expecting to hear some good news from them very soon.

According to their recent status on twitter, they are very close to a breakthrough and would soon release the tool to unlock iPhone 4. They linked the following picture in their tweet:

It looks like Apple has taken some special care in regards of carrier lock, as the dev team is having a hard time in cracking the baseband. Keep in mind that Unlock and Jailbreak issues in iPhone would generally relate to the software, and it seems like thats the exact case with iPhone 4, or else the dev team wouldn’t have reached so far with a hardware lock.
