Am I hearing it right? Digitimes is reporting that OmniVision – which delivers 3.2 megapixel CIS sensors for iPhone 3GS – has been ordered by Apple for 5 megapixel CIS sensors for the next generation iPhone. The report doesn’t end here, it continues to the claim that the next generation iPhone will hit the shelves in the second half of 2009.
We have already heard the rumors that the WWDC is expected in June 2010. So we take it as a signal. Keep your fingers crossed. Expect the next generation iPhone launch at WWDC 2010 with a 5 megapixel camera! What else would one want?
