Motorola has been struggling behind the competition. Now it has decided to jump into the rush of Android gadgets with its first Android Phone, ‘Motorola Cliq’. Can it be the answer to bring the lost glory to Motorola? May be yes. At first I thought it would be a same odd style phone like most of Motorola phones but digging through the details, I found myself attracted to it. A desire to own this phone slightly slipped into my heart.

If not most important, the physical outlook is one of the things, customers look at, first of all. Looking at the pictures, how do you find the outlook? If I compare it with G1, Motorola cliq seems gorgeous. The second thing you’ll encounter attractive is the touch screen. Not a multi touch one but it’s very responsive. You’ll love to keep playing with it. There are 3 physical navigation buttons at the bottom. Camera, lock screen and volume control buttons are located at the either sides of the phone. It has got a slide out QWERTY keyboard with a graceful tactile feeling.

Now whats inside? Cliq is running Android 1.5 cupcake. Motorola’s phones usually use a very odd typography but you’ll not encounter that here. Standard fonts with beautiful designing are used. Home screen streams the facebook and twitter updates from your contacts. You can however customize to choose, what you want to see there.

Motorola has added a feature called ‘Motorola Blur’ that makes me give four stars to this Android gadget. It is something similar to Palm’s WebOS. It combines the information of your contacts from various resources like social media.

Obviously, the Android apps will also add a lot to the functionality. Motorola has raised Cliq to a little higher than its siblings by adding a 5 megapixel camera. Accelerometer, a GPS, wifi and bluetooth 2.0 are also there.

I am really liking the Motorola’s first Android gadget. It will be available via T-Mobile in the fall 2009, but the pricing is not yet announced. Engadget Mobile however reports that it will be available for free with a two year contract and for $399.99 without the agreement.

Here is an Excusive Photo Gallery of Motorola Cliq.
