iRiver is planning a device that has to behave like an iPod touch i.e a PMP as well as a tablet PC plus an ebook reader. It is planned to have Android OS but it is in concept mode so far.
On folding, it will become a PMP with touch screen and on unfolding it will behave like an Android tablet. Not stated clearly but it should to 360degrees like a traditional tablet PC and same is the position when it behaves like an ebook reader, I guess.
It looks cool to have some iPod touch rival based on Android but in my opinion it is not going to be a cool device. It seems that iRiver wants to beat iPod touch and Kindle in the first leap but instead it is going to be a messy crap. That’s what happens to most of the things which try to cover the as much features as much they can’t!
Let’s hope, it’d be a good, Android gadget. No word on pricing and release date yet. However it will be released somewhere in 2010.
