Being a Silicon Valley tech blog TechCrunch has gained a popularity like no one else. TechCrunch is considered ‘to be the Lord of all tech blogs. After its huge success, CrunchGrear, MobileCrunch and a few other crunch blogs were lunched by TechCrunch. Either they all are good or not, they have gained popularity and credibility because of TechCrunch. TechCrunch also presents them in the form of tabs on the main site, so that they look like the internal links or sections of techcrunch. These tabs are supposed to be the internal links as a norm of internet but they lead to external sites. Anyways, this is not my point today.
It seems that Crunch group is sufering from a complex, they consider that their credibility will never be affected by any deed. Today, I was going through me feeds, when I found a title “Video Review: Funky Monkey Fruit Chips” in CruchGear’s feed. It caught my eye because a gadget blog is not supposed to review the snacks! You can see in the video that the author John Biggs not only wrote about these snacks but also posted a video review.
It looks very odd when you find “CrucnchGear - Video Review” title in the start of the video, you expect a review of some Hi-Fi gadget but you find John Biggs eating fruit chips and talking about nothing worthy! I wasted my 2:39 minutes in watching it. Can CruchGear get me back these minutes of my life? Obviously John spent more time to capture and edit this video. Couldn’t he make better use of his time?
Infact I found two odd articles on CrucnchGear today. I am very afraid that both of them are from John Biggs! Here’s the second one “Mattel Mindflex game available for pre-order”
I hope, CrunchGear will advise John to avoid such things in future and other gadget blogs will never follow this fashion!
