Kyocera, a few days back, showed off its folding OLED cell phone “EOS”. As you see in the graphic, its design is awesome! It folds just like your wallet. While unfolding, you can unfold once to use the physical QWERTY keyboard or unfold completely to view the wide screen OLED screen. An interesting feature about the keyboard is that it has got a “Shape Memory” which makes the keys pop out when in use and reside flat otherwise.
The Kyocera EOS phone consists of a soft, semi-rigid polymer skin which surrounds the low-energy OLED display. Its a slim phone and you don’t need any charger to charge it. It just gets charged as you use it. Yes, it is charged by the kinetic energy!. So more you use the phone, more it gets charged. The phone is still in the designing phase, I hope it will get an additional solar charging and some feature enhancements. I searched Kyocera website to look for EOS but didn’t find any result, so I am unable to provide you with the official link, however, here’s inhabitat’s review of Kyocera EOS phone.
I am waiting for its launch to see weather it is a worthy gadget for daily use or not!
