Motions Computing has recently launched its rugged tablet PC. It is hoped to be a giant leap in tablet computing. This PC is designed to be used in industrial environments and is capable of bearing shocks and drops from about 3 ft height. It is touch screen tablet but can also be connected to a docking station and an external keyboard giving all the functionality of a desktop PC. It contains dual batteries to give a full day computing experience and also features a SIM card slot for ultimate mobile computing experience. The strong casing, rounded corners and the slip-free & dust-free surface makes it really rugged!
It has a 1.8″ hard disk with extra shock protection and DataGuard (to protect data during drop events), a shock mounted display, a low cost 64GB SSD for extreme shock and vibration protection. It also has a 2.0 megapixel camera for ultimate field computing. No need to worry about the security because it has a built-in biometric fingerprint reader. Now one thing remaining is the GPS so it does have one! It comes up with a J-Series Work Anywhere(TM) kit for comfortable whole day carrying!

It combines Motion’s View Anywhere(R) technology with the Hydis AFFS+ wide screen display thus providing a bright outdoor display.

Regarding to performance, it has an Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology, which includes the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor to provide high performance and optimal battery life, Speak Anywhere® technology that intelligently switches between two of three microphones for high-fidelity voice and sound input, Intel® WiFi Link 5300 Series 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n, CSR BlueCore™ Bluetooth® 2.1, and integrated Gobi™ mobile broadband for a variety of communications options.
