Computers are becoming intelligent day by day, they have become small enough to reside on your palm top! Tiny devices more powerful that even huge devices were not capable of!… all these things seem to bring an end to the innovation because we seem to say “Now what?” a Mac Mini? an iPhone??

Microsoft has answered this question by revealing world’s first touch surface computer which is not only multi-touch but a multi-user multi-touch screen, capable of handling 52 touches simultaneously! It is a sensitive (i should say sensible) computer which can recognize a cold drink placed on it and can provide you with the temperature, weight, calories and history of the drink etc.

With its multi-touch sensitive screen, computing has taken a new diversion towards real life. It doesn’t include a mouse or even a keyboard. All the operation is done in the form of physical real life gestures. You can place your digital camera on it and the photos will scatter on the screen as they are really thrown out of a packet. Now flip them, drag them, arrange them or re-size them with your hands. It will not only recognize the taps and touches on its surface but will also know the orientation and pressure of your hands on it. Its really a fun when you touch and play with the videos with your hands, pick up a cool gadget and feel it with your fingers, flip it or resize it with your hands, put tags and tattoos on it as you like!

Is it all like real life? No its beyond! You can touch a T-shirt physically, flip, move it around but cannot re-size it with your both hands and cannot put your lovely embroidery on it when you go to a shop!
When it comes to work… it provides you with the maps and tools through which you can travel and find your destinations virtually, find people and connect with them.
A question arises that how does it know that a glass containing a grape juice is placed on it? Its not capable of recognizing everything but the things with tags attached to them. Microsoft has not yet eleased its suraface computer for public but has deployed it at some resorts and casinos. Its price is $10000 right now but is hoped to decrease by 2011.
